Farm water tanks are predominantly for either stock water tanks or potable water tanks. However recently, farmers have found that rain water is extremely beneficial when used with sprays for crops for fertilisers and for weed control.
In many cases, dam water or bore water has impurities or PH levels that reduce the effectiveness of the sprays and rain water has been found to offer the best and most consistent results.
As a result of this, many farmers are putting in large rain water tanks to collect and store large capacities of water for their spraying regimes.
Other uses for tanks on farms are in specialised faming activities where they will have bore water tanks for irrigation or hydroponics tanks for mixing and storage of chemicals for the hydroponics system. Also fish farming is now done in large water tanks that are designed as aquaculture tanks.
Dams are also being re-considered in favour of large water tanks due to the loss of water through evaporation and also due to contamination from various sources that render the water un-usable Steelfab specialise in the design of water tanks for any purpose for farming business and work with the farmer to ensure that the water tanks are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the process.
